WISHING WELL PROJECT

12 YEARS OF GIVING
The Wishing Well – What’s it all about?
The Wishing Well exists as part of Holy Cross and St. Swithun
Wells Covenant with the Poor.
The seed was sewn by Fr. Paul Beaumont in 1997.
It’s a very simple idea – the best ones usually are!
- Throughout the year the parish fundraises in many different
ways and this money is added to the Wishing Well fund.
- During the summer we put an advert in the local paper,
inviting bids.
- We sponsor as Catholics but not necessarily Catholic groups.
They do, however, need to promote care and justice in our local
area.
- In the Autumn, after 11 am Mass at Holy Cross, the cheques
are distributed. Last year we gave out over £6,000.
- The well is then empty and needs to be replenished so
another year of fundraising begins!
- The money is used to brighten people’s lives in Eastleigh –
loving our neighbour in action!
